The word thankful doesn’t adequately express my gratefulness to the One who can heal. I am looking for a word that conjurors up the notion that there is something beyond thankful. I have been blessed this past year in many ways, some of which I already shared with you. But wait, there’s more!
The more is the incredible opportunities that I have been given to provide encouragement to so many others that I have met through this hobby; some are just starting their journey and others are years ahead of me. Now our lives are connected through a common thread. My team of care providers, and my support system, are considered to be among the very best in the world, I have access to cutting edge medicines, but what I am really thankful for are people like you who share a comment or send me message that something that I wrote touched them or gave them encouragement on a day or a season in their life when they desperately needed one. Simple words from some faceless guy, an accountant of all things, who just started to write to process his thoughts about what he was experiencing, to an audience of one. But one soon became two, then three, then…Last week drove it home for me; one person’s words of appreciation provided the fuel I needed to write this post.
I never know where I am going to land when I start each week. I just start writing with a goal of connecting with just one new person. Some posts are more academic, others sarcastic, but each communicates what I want to say to that one person who just needs to hear that all is not lost. Yes, there is hope and so much more.
This week’s post is going to end with a simple request. I want to broaden my reach and touch the lives of many more. If there is someone that you know that needs to be encouraged, needs a thought to ponder, or just something to read that might put a smile on their face, I encourage you to share this with them. It’s the only way that I can think of to live a life that is beyond thankful. I am indebted to those who have walked beside me and I want to do the same for others.
Ivy enjoys this blog as well; she lives for the attention and is
starting to think that she is a “rock star.” She wants me to find her a new pair of shades. She thinks her future is so bright!
